Therese is in demand as both performer and teacher. Her passions include contemporary music, innovative programming and presentations, chamber music, vocal accompaniment, and developing her growing expertise in musicians' health. She is also particularly interested in bringing contemporary classical music to wider audiences.

In 2009, Therese undertook an intensive residency in New York City studying with Edna Golandsky and John Bloomfield, successfully completing training as Australia's first qualified teacher in the Taubman Approach to piano technique. See Therese's testimonial here.

The Taubman Approach has had remarkable success in helping pianists reach their full potential at the instrument through overcoming injury and technical limitations. Therese's residency in NYC was a continuation of her learning through attendance at several intensive symposia in Italy and the USA in 2003, and two further courses in the US in July 07. She continues to study the Taubman Approach via Skype, usually very early in the morning. The process of training to become a Taubman Instructor forms the focus of her PhD at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University (QCGU), which she will complete in 2011.

She has presented on issues of musicians' health and the Taubman Approach at QCGU, Music Teachers Association of Queensland, and the Australian Society for Performing Arts Health conferences (ASPAH). In July 2011, Therese will be an invited speaker at the Australasian Piano Pedagogy Conference.Therese applies her understanding of this knowledge in her work as a piano teacher at St Peters Lutheran College, in her private studio, and through her teaching at Young Conservatorium and QCGU. Therese is available to teach lessons in the Taubman Approach, from consultation to ongoing study.
