We are very excited to announce that FINALLY, the programme, From the Sublime to the Ridiculous, has been rescheduled. Please join us on Sunday October 23 at 4pm, in the Hall at Holy Trinity Fortitude Valley: a favourite Ikon Music sound space! Tickets $20/12 - available at the door, on the day. The programme will include works by Nyman, Tavener, Robert Davidson and of course, our beloved Messiaen! Many of you will recall that several years ago, we conquered Book 1 of Messiaen's Poemes pour Mi. In this recital we will present Book 2 of the Poemes, and we are more than excited about it. There will also be some rather silly treats to offset the 'serious' bits. The concept of Sublime to the Ridiculous, is simply, that everyone will have a different opinion as to what is sublime and ridiculous....even between Therese and I it's never unanimous. Looking forward to hearing which pieces you'd classify into either of those genres! |
